Premier Utility Design Tool Supports Esri’s Utility Network Model
SBS has delivered a steady stream of enhancements to Automated Utility Design™ (AUD) since we first released the product back in 2016. We are quite excited to announce the trend will continue with the upcoming release of AUD Version 8.0. AUD 8 and the corresponding release of SBS Utility Datahub™ integration suite extends support for advanced integration with Esri’s ArcGIS Professional and the new Utility Network (UN) Management extension.
Based on Customer feedback at the 2018 Peer Utility Group (PUG) conference, SBS has released an update to Utility DataHub™ Design – GIS module. UDH Design – GIS module provides bi-directional data integration between GIS systems and Automated Utility Design™ (AUD). UDH Design now includes the ModelMap Configurator, a user-friendly interface to create, manage and visualize the UDH Design – GIS configuration files that facilitate the transformation of data between the two systems.
Latest SBS Release Offers New Advancements in Underground Utility Design
With the recent release of Automated Utility Design™ 7.3 (AUD), SBS continues to push the envelope for modeling and designing distribution utility assets. This post will bring you up to date on the latest enhancements we have made to our underground design functionality.
The SDS Model Editor and SD Model Cloud will now be replaced with the new Utility Content Hub™ (UCH). UCH gives you direct access to utilitycontent.com without ever having to leave Autodesk Inventor. UCH also has additional tools to add SDS intelligence to individual models and prepare models for design checks.
LAKEWOOD, CO —SBS announces the release of Utility Content for Substation Design Suite™ (SDS). The announcement was made at the Substation Design Solution Industry Consortium (SDSIC) Spring meeting in Alexandria, LA. This follows the SBS 2017 beta program that tested Content Configurators and included a limited availability release of Utility Content. The predecessor site, Substation3D.com, has since been decommissioned.
Enhanced module for Utility DataHub™ adds several new features
Spatial Business Systems (SBS), SPIDA®Software (SPIDA) and Nashville Electric Service (NES) have recently completed a teaming effort to enhance the Automated Utility Design™ (AUD) SPIDA®Calc interface. By working collaboratively with NES, the existing interface has been enhanced to reduce complexity while adding several new features to improve the operational and technical viability.
Ensuring infrastructure integrity has never been more important than it is today. Increased regulatory scrutiny, aging infrastructure, joint pole use and smart grid deployments require the staking process to be more than just placing and tracking assets. Staking today needs to ensure the most efficient and lowest cost asset is utilized using integrated business workflows. Integration of Milsoft WindMil, SPIDA®Calc, AutoCAD® Utility Design and Tri Global’s Field Staking gives a designer cost, engineering and spatial information at their fingertips to optimize the staking process.
